Removing obstacles…or just digging oneself further in?

I’m happy to share that this week the HuffPost published my article about an incident that led me to reflect on how I deal with conflict. Through it, I came to realize how easy it is to be at odds with someone else, how difficult the path to healing feels, and surprisingly, that it doesn't always have to be that hard.
In the article I talk about a young person who vandalized my car (yes, I drive a Tesla). It was clear they had formed an unkind image of the type of person would own such a car. As I confronted them, I could feel myself wanting to create a similarly negative image of them. Our conversation could have so easily gone down a different path, one in which we were arguing at mirages of one another.
