On fostering our innate healing
Dear friend,
I’ve been thinking about healing these days, in large part because the rifts in our society are growing deeper each day—and no matter what our political affiliations, I can’t imagine anyone is feeling good about these conflicts—and also because I’m on the mend from a recent kitchen mishap.
I cut my thumb slicing a cream puff, of all things, and ended up in the ER. It was quite a mundane accident, and I returned home a few hours later, thumb glued back together and bandaged. I won’t go into the details healing process, but I’ve found it quite fascinating to watch the body putting itself right. First, there was pain for a couple of days, followed by almost complete numbness. Now, the feeling is returning as the nerves heal. All as it should be, even if it’s somewhat of a mystery to me.
